Prime Minister's security insurance scheme is a policy under which time of accident on death or disability for the sum insured can be claimed.
Scheme Benefit: Upto Rs.2,00,000/-
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant should the resident of Assam.
- The applicant must have a bank account.
- The Aadhar card of the applicant should be linked with bank account. (If not, then copy of Aadhar Card should be attached with the application).
- The applicant of the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana should be between 18 to 70 of age.

How to Apply Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY):
1. Only those beneficiaries that have a savings account are eligible to apply for the scheme.
2. Visit your nearest bank branch from the following list: State Bank of India (SBI), Punjab National, Bank (PNB), Punjab and Sind Bank, HDFC, Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank,Kotak Bank,Bank of Hyderabad(BOH), IndusInd Bank,Canara Bank,Bhartiya Mahila Bank (BMB), Federal Bank,Vijaya Bank,South Indian Bank (SIB),Bank of Mahrashtra (BOM), Corporation Bank, Union Bank of India (UBI), Allahabad Bank, IDBI Bank, UCO Bank, Dena Bank,Bank of India (BOI), Central Bank, Syndicate Bank, State Bank of Travancore(SBT), Kerala Gramin Bank (KGB)
3. Fill the application form (link below) and submit it in the bank branch. 4. Rs.20 will be deducted per annum from the bank account.
It is necessary to link your Aadhar card with the bank account to avail benefits under the scheme.
For Claims:
Steps to be taken by the Nominee:
1. The nominee has to approach the Bank wherein the Member (Life insured / Policyholder) was having the 'Savings Bank Account' through which he/she was covered under PMJJBY, along with the death certificate of the member.
2. Nominee has to collect Claim Form and Discharge receipt, from the Bank or any other designated source like insurance company branches, hospitals, insurance agents etc.,
3. Nominee has to submit duly completed Claim Form, Discharge Receipt, death certificate along with photocopy of the cancelled cheque of the nominee's bank account (if available) OR the bank account details to the Bank wherein the Member was having the 'Savings Bank Account' through which he/she was covered under PMJJBY. (In case the Nominee is a minor, the Guardian. /Appointee may fill claim form and discharge receipt)
